Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative and the Robinvale community were fortunate enough to be one of the five identified sites across Victoria where the IDEAS van would travel too. The very first van clinic was held on Friday 28th June 2019. Not only was it a beautiful day weather wise it was also great to have the van parked in the street and for the community passing by to stop in and have a look and ask questions.
On 28 Friday, June the IDEAS Van was in operation from 9.00am -1.00pm and during this time there were 13 patients seen with eye conditions, while there was also a number of other visitors who made an appointment for the next clinic visit .
Our first visit from the IDEAS Van was a very successful one and the feedback from patients and the local community was very encouraging and now that this service is available for the community members to access locally on a bi-monthly basis, with the Eye healthcare team on board, the Optometrist, the Orthoptist and Ophthalmologist visiting is great news for the communities we serve.
MVAC are very thankful for this great Aboriginal eye health initiative and look forward to providing the best Eye healthcare for the Robinvale community moving forward.
