RWAV has grants available for rural and regional Victorian health professionals. Our grants are designed to help you achieve your career goals including relocation, professional development and postgraduate education.

Know More About MMM
×The Modified Monash Model (MMM) defines whether a location is a city, rural, remote or very remote.
To be eligible for an RWAV grant, health professionals must be working in an eligible health service in a regional Victorian MMM 2 - 7 location.
For some grants, health professionals working in an Aboriginal health service in a MMM 1 location may also be eligible. Please read the grant guidelines for more.

RURAL ALLIED HEALTH NEW SERVICE GRANT
The RWAV Rural Allied Health New Service Grant supports health services and allied health practitioners to access up to $10,000 to establish or expand allied health services in rural and regional Victoria. This grant is designed to support increased access to allied health services in MMM 3-6.

Allied Health Assistant Grant
The RWAV Allied Health Assistant Grant is funded by RWAV as part of the Australian Government Department of Health Rural Health Workforce Support program.
The Allied Health Assistant Grant is aimed at improving allied health practitioner capacity by supporting an increase in available Allied Health Assistants through a grant awarded to practices.
The grant enables eligible private primary healthcare practices and clinics to support staff to complete training and attain Allied Health Assistant certification.
Medical Professional Development Program
The Medical Professional Development Program (MPD) supports the ongoing professional development and medical education of medical practitioners in rural and regional Victoria. MPD also aims to encourage trainee doctors to complete rural and regional placements by providing access to professional development subsidies. The MPD is funded by the Victorian Government and administered by RWAV.
The annual cap has been raised from $3,000 to $5,000.
Please note that this grant does NOT cover exam support or exam preparation courses.
Rural Immersion Student Experience Grant
This grant is funded by the Australian Department of Health and administered in Victoria by RWAV.

The RWAV Rural Student Immersion Placement Grant supports medical, nursing, and allied health students to undertake a two-week placement in regional or rural Victoria. Applicants can apply for funding of up to $1500 to cover travel, accommodation, and meal costs associated with the placement.
Clinical Psychology Placement Grant
This grant is funded by the Australian Department of Health and administered in Victoria by RWAV.

RWAV’s Clinical Psychology Placement Grant supports postgraduate Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology Masters and Doctoral students and students studying a Masters of Professional Psychology to undertake placements in regional or rural Victoria. RWAV considers a placement as a consecutive period of time where blocks of up to 2 placement days, at least fortnightly, over a number of months are required to be undertaken in one location.
