The IDEAS Van is here to treat diabetic eye conditions in rural Victoria
The Indigenous Diabetes Eyes Assessment Screening (IDEAS) van is a mobile eye clinic that screens, treats and helps to prevent blindness due to diabetes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
For the first time, the Van is visiting communities in Victoria as part of The Look Out Project. The Look Out Project, is an RWAV initiative that aims to deliver ophthalmology outreach services at selected Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), specifically to facilitate greater access to Diabetic Retinopathy treatment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Starting from July 2019, the IDEAS Van will be making regular visits every few months to the five sites. View the schedule here.
