John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP)

The John Flynn Placement Program (JFPP) is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and is designed to attract the future medical workforce into a remote and rural career. The Program provides 300 undergraduate medical students the opportunity to experience clinical practice and lifestyle in remote and rural locations across Australia. Successful eligible applicants, from 20 participating universities, spend eight weeks over three to four years in a remote or rural community with a one-to-one professional mentor, community host and contact.

From 1 July, 2017 the Rural Workforce Agency Network will administer the JFPP in each state and the Northern Territory via Local Coordination Teams.
