What We Offer

Ear Health Coordination Partnership

RWAV has been contracted by the Australian Government Department of Health to coordinate various initiatives designed to enhance the monitoring and treatment of ear and hearing health in primary healthcare.

Outreach Regional Program Officer, Candace Marsden, said this was an exciting project that will work towards improving the health outcomes for ear and hearing health in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

“The RWAV Outreach team is proud to be working alongside the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) and peak bodies in the ear and hearing health space to ensure there is consistent messaging, service delivery, referral pathways, and resources for all Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.”

Currently, RWAV is working with VACCHO and Hearing Australia to ensure that urgent hearing care needs can still be catered for during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clinical staff at ACCOs can expect to receive further and regular guidance on how our service providers will still be available for them as a result of reduced face to face consultations.

RWAV looks forward to creating shared strategies in ear health coordination in this joint partnership, with the long-term view of making pathways more accessible to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in Victoria.
